Why Christian Education?

Paidea is the concept Paul employs when instructing parents in Ephesians 6:4.

The ESV uses the English word discipline for the Greek word paidea.

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger,

but bring them up in the

discipline and instruction of the Lord.

The apostle states that the godly alternative to exasperating our children is raising them

in the paidea and instruction of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paidea connotes something beyond academic and moral preparation –

it’s nurturing, Christ-centered enculturation.

Paidea is about training, discipling and grooming the whole child in preparation of a Christ- centered life.

The world nurtures its children for the world. Christian parents are to paidea their children for Christ.
At Providence Christian School, we’re committed to partnering with parents

to groom – to paidea – children in this way.
